Product Description
This 8-inch cast iron fry pan runs entirely without Teflon or chemical coatings. The non-stick surface comes from a vegetable-oil pre-seasoning applied at the factory, so it's ready to cook the moment it arrives. No synthetic coating means nothing leaches into your food, even at high heat.
At 200mm across and 2 litres capacity, it handles everyday Indian cooking well: tadka, fried eggs, sautéed vegetables, seared chicken. The cast iron body weighs 1,750 grams, which gives it the thermal mass to hold heat steadily rather than spiking and dropping the way thin aluminium pans do. Heat spreads evenly across the base, so you get consistent results without shifting the pan around.
It works on gas, electric, induction, and open flame. The handle and pan body are both cast iron, with an integrated pour spout for draining oil or liquids. It's also oven-safe, so you can finish a dish under the grill without switching cookware.
The pan ships with a wooden spatula included. A wooden spatula won't scratch the seasoned surface, which matters for keeping the non-stick layer intact over time. The box also includes a manual and warranty card.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the non-stick surface chemical-free? I've heard cast iron doesn't use PTFE coatings.
Yes, it's completely chemical-free. The pan is pre-seasoned with natural vegetable oil, which builds a non-stick layer through heat and use. There's no PTFE, PFOA, or any factory-applied chemical coating.
Does it work on induction cooktops?
Yes. It works on gas, electric, induction, and open flame. Cast iron conducts heat well across all of these, so you don't need a separate pan if you switch between hob types.
Is 8 inches big enough for everyday Indian cooking?
It suits one to two servings comfortably. The pan holds 2 litres and measures 8 inches across, which is a practical size for tadka, fried eggs, a small omelette, or searing a couple of portions of meat. For larger family meals, you'd want a bigger pan.
How heavy is it? Will it be hard to handle on the stovetop?
It weighs 1.75 kg, which is typical for cast iron at this size. It's manageable for most adults on a stovetop, but it's heavier than a standard non-stick aluminium pan, so that's worth knowing before you buy.
What comes in the box? Do I need to buy anything else to start cooking?
The box includes the fry pan, a wooden spatula, and a manual with warranty card. You can cook with it straight away without buying extra accessories.
Does it have an incline or any special handle grip? I noticed a pour spout mentioned.
The handle is cast iron, integral to the pan, with an integrated pour spout built into the side. The spout lets you drain off excess oil or liquid without needing a separate strainer. There is no silicone or rubber grip on the handle.
